Harborview Chimney Care, Fire and CO Safety from Long Beach

Harborview Chimney Care is based in Long Beach. A chimney can need a lot of things, but two matter most for the people inside: a fire in the flue, and carbon monoxide coming back into the rooms. So those are where every visit begins.

Fire starts with creosote, the residue wood smoke leaves on the flue walls. We look at how much is there and what kind before we sweep it out. Carbon monoxide gets in through a cracked liner, a blocked flue or poor draft, so we check the liner, clear any blockage and test how the fireplace draws with the damper open.

Then we explain it, calmly. Most hazards have an ordinary cause, like a damper rusted half shut or a nest in an unused flue, and an ordinary fix. If something means the fireplace should not be used until it is repaired, we say that plainly too.
